Born May 4, 1977

Once upon a time, a happy couple named Donald and Janice lived an idyllic life on a farm with their easy baby Jenny. Then disaster struck! Just kidding. My mom, dad, and older sister were already a well established unit by the time I arrived 5 and 1/2 years later. My mother reports that my sister was very excited about my birth. I think my sister's imaginary friends had all "moved away" by this point so she was thrilled about the prospect of a captive audience (me).
Here she is reading to me. My sister spent most of her time with me, and I loved every minute of it. I firmly believe my cognitive skills were enhanced by my sister's constant modeling. She enjoyed teaching me new skills and my social and emotional needs were well met. According to my mother, I was late to walk. I did not begin walking until I was 15 months old. I was shy and reserved outside the family. At 18 months, I was hospitalized with pneumonia and lost most of my remaining hearing.
